Here’s the scoop;

Hair We Share was formed in 2014 to create free wigs for people that are suffering from hair loss due to various medical conditions.  They rely solely on donations, in the form of real-hair ponytails and monetary contributions. With these donations they provide quality hair solutions at no cost to children and adults throughout the country. Hair We Share is committed to changing lives!

We are proud to partner with them by offering free haircuts to anyone who is willing to donate their hair to this amazing cause.  We are incredibly touched by the response, generosity and enthusiasm of our clients who have already participated to this very special cause. Hair loss is a life changing experience, and it feels great to help in such a big way.

I have been a longtime fan and supporter and yet I am still overcome with pride each time a child visits my salon to give the gift of their hair to a child in need.

Donating to Hair We Share

  • Minimum length of 12″ (They will accept 8″ when joining their ponytail tracking program)
  • Hair that has been dyed (natural colors only) without the use of bleach
  • Hair that is permed or straightened (after damaged ends are trimmed off)
  • Gray hair

  • Hair that has been treated with bleach – or lightened
  • Hair that is not a natural color
  • Hair that is sent in wet
  • Hair that is not packaged in a sealed plastic bag

You can also check out their website to learn more about donating hair, as well as their fabulous Tracking Program option, which enables you to see the wig and the person who receives your hair donation.

In our salon, the stylist gathers hair in two to three long ponytails to do the initial snip—this keeps the hair together. We then make sure to take great care when sending every donated pony to Hair We Share.

It’s estimated that 80% of hair donations come from children who wish to help other children. What a wonderful gift to give, and a great way to teach your child about being charitable!

I am always awed by the generosity of the children who give their hair to Hair We Share. To find out more, please call our salon or visit Hair We Share online.
